Tom joined Pertemps Professional Development as the Head of Leadership and Assessment after 10 years working within the policing sector at the College of Policing and its precursor organisations. During that time Tom has been responsible for a wide range of assessment and development focussed products at all levels of policing. His last 6 years focussed on the design and delivery of high profile leadership and talent assessment products including the Senior Police National Assessment Centre (Senior PNAC). Over this time Tom was awarded two Chief Constable Commendations specifically for the implementation of significant efficiencies within these assessment products identified through a Continuous Improvement approach and the design and delivery of the inaugural Direct Entry (Superintendent) and Fast Track selection processes. Prior to leaving the College of Policing Tom was heavily involved in the recent Review of Police Leadership as part of his role as Policing Standards Manager for Leadership & Equality.

Tom is a Chartered and Registered Occupational Psychologist specialising in selection and assessment within a leadership context and he has experience across training, personal development, and research in an applied setting. Tom has a strong belief in the value that organisations can gain from using proportionate and evidence based assessment methods to make objective, fair and transparent selection decisions that can build trust and confidence across candidates and stakeholders alike.
