Thousands of constables and sergeants across the country are qualified at Step 2 of the National Police Promotion Framework (NPPF) and seeking promotion. With less promotion opportunities, this means more competition for fewer jobs; all at a time when there are significant challenges around workforce demands, planning and morale. To support forces to make accurate, objective and fair assessment decisions we have developed POINT.
With four rank specific tools designed for promotion to sergeant, inspector, chief inspector and superintendent, POINT provides a credible sifting tool effective in identifying the most able performers. POINT has been developed by our Chartered Occupational Psychologists working alongside serving police officers. It is designed to assess a candidate’s ability to consider and action a series of rank specific operational, people and organisational issues.
